School is out (for good, perhaps?) and it is time for an adventure. I've chosen to explore Thailand this July, spending two weeks at an NGO called AFECT (http://www.akhathai.org/) in the Golden Triangle region working in Hill Tribe villages. For the first week, I'll be helping with their conservation/sustainability program, which is currently focused on reforestation. The second week will be spent helping construct a hospital and/or health clinics for the people of the villages.
The rest of my time in Thailand will be spent exploring, including a (quick) visit to Burma (Myanmar). Only a rough itinerary exists for the rest, but I'll expand that and post details as they come to fruition, but I envision lots of temples.The Rochester afternoon beckons, until next time.
